Save Child Savings: A test for the coalition
In another sign that our campaign to Save Child Savings is getting heard, today's Guardian covers our launch with an article by Zoe Williams.

She points out that, even if the government stops contributing to the Child Trust Fund during the recession, it would be economic "vandalism" to remove the infrastructure that allows families to save for their children's future at a tiny cost.
Saving the Child Trust Fund account would allow families to continue saving now but also mean that after the recession, the government could begin contributing again when it was affordable. The article points out that to remove the accounts as well as the government contribution would be like saying we can no longer afford to provide buses, and then ripping out the roads as well.
But as it concludes - the politicians still have a choice. This is a real test for the coalition. Will they listen?
That's why we need you to sign up - so that we can show the politicians just how many families want the chance to save for their children and why they need to let them do that. By working together, we can make sure they hear our voice. Join us here:
